ABOUT ME
WELCOME
I was raised in a home that had a room designated for books and photos. We called it the library. In fact, my dad even built a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling shelving unit to house the many photo albums, old reels of negatives, and books. Lots of books. My parents taught me the value of storytelling through their love of teaching, learning, and documenting both through literature and photography.
Both parents were teachers (which explains all the books), and my dad used to develop his own photography in dark rooms. He also gave me my first Canon film SLR in elementary school (which at the time I primarily used for taking photos of my beagles dressed in old halloween costumes). My mom wouldn't necessarily call herself a "photographer," but boy was she good at documenting each first day of school, birthday party, field trip and more (hence the wall of albums).
I now have my own family and my own walls to fill. my love for photography is rooted deep. It's personal, it's family, and it's history. It's storytelling.
I see each session as an opportunity to be your storyteller. My favorite frames consist of all the in-between moments of a session- the frames with movement and interaction. My goal is to create albums that provide not only visual but also emotional nostalgia.
I am based in Flagstaff, AZ. However, I am available to travel to surrounding areas in Arizona. Please contact me for estimates and further inquiries about travel.
